BIRTHDAY GIRL WISHES FOTO FOLIO

Hello hello!

I'm gonna share another foto folio with you all, I made a birthday folio and this is a custom order. She wanted a birthday folio for her daughter who turned 3 last September. I'm a bit late posting this project here on my blog because my daughter's time of sleep is getting crazy again and time won't just allow me to blog! Lol!

So I used Kathy Orta King's Foto Folio Style 4 Gatefold Folio tutorial for this album. And I made this album using Birthday Wishes Kit by Echo Park. I also used kraf-tex for both spines. This is very easy to make.

On the front cover, I decorated it the way Kathy did but I just used what I have. I usually don't buy all the things that comes with the collection because that will cost me too much so I just use whatever I have and that's when I get to be more creative and resourceful :). So I just layered some patterned paper and stickers on the front cover. Since this is for a birthday, I played with it.

This is a gatefold album so it will open on both sides. I placed 4x4 cut aparts from the cut-apart sheet and place two photo mats using plain pastel colored cardstock and the word Wish is a sticker. In the middle, there are four pockets with photo mats inside and the bottom part has a large pocket, and I didn't placed anything inside so she can place the invitation there.

It opens up again on both sides, which is a waterfall with 12 photo mats on the left side and then the right side are stacked pockets with photo mats inside.

Then the bottom part goes down, and I just made a layout there. Then on both flip outs I placed photo mats and 3x4s from the cut apart sheet. Then in the middle there are two pockets which holds two photo mats inside. It has 3 cascading pockets and they all go down and just made layouts for each.

The back looks like this

And that's it! Very easy to make!

TRAVEL STORIES FOLIO (GIRL VERSION)

Hello again!

I'm back with the girl version of travel folio for the kids! This time, I used Carta Bella Travel Stories Kit. It's the same as the boy one using kathy orta king's foto folios 2 style #4 tutorial. And I also used kraf-tex for the binding and baby pink elastic closure.

This album measures 9x11 inches with 2 1/2 inches spine. I used picked raspberry distress ink from ranger to ink the edges of the papers.

On the front cover, I did the same luggage tag to put the girl's name. I placed the 3x4 pocket card from the cut-apart sheet as the focal point of the cover that says "Life is a Journey" and just layered with the patterned paper which are from the border sheet.

I made a different lay-out on the folder part on the left side. On one side, I used the design on the paper, I cut a part on the envelope and postcard on the paper that made a slit pocket so I can insert two photo mats. I also learned that from kathy orta :) On the other side I used 3x4s from the cut-apart sheet and placed some photo mats and a border and just added some stickers and banners.Inside the folder, I also added some stickers and a used tim holtz paper clip to clip the 3x4 which says "we took a lot of pictures". I used clips to hold the folder so nothing will fall out.

Then on the right side part is basically the same as the boy one, except on the back of the folder with pockets, I just made a photo mat and decorate it with stickers and did not decorate the bottom part of the page. On this album I used pink and yellow pastel colored cardstock. I also added photo mats placed inside the pockets and journaling pages for kids found on http://we3travel.com/free-kid-travel-journal-printable/ which are very great journaling pages and I showed that on my youtube video!

And lastly, on the back of the album, I pieced two different patterned paper together and it looks like this

And that's it, that's the girl version of the travel folio!

AWAY WE GO TRAVEL FOLIO (BOY VERSION)

Hello everyone!

I've got another Foto Folio to share with you all. This is a custom order I got from my facebook page from a very nice lady and she wanted a Travel Folio for kids. Then she showed me three websites which have diy travel journal for kids but used the cinge binding. I told her that I only do the kind of binding that I do with foto folios and mini album and don't have the machine for that. And then she told me that the last travel folio that I made will be too complicated for the kids and maybe I can make a simpler one. I thought of the travel folio from foto folios 2 and showed her kathy orta's video for that and she said that it could work, so we agreed on me making the travel folio. I made two travel folio, one for a boy and another for a girl. She also told me to use papers with shades of blue and green for the boy and shades of pink for the girl folio. And I think I managed to do that.

On this album, I used Away We Go paper collection from Imaginisce and I also used few pocket cards from Sn@p travel by simple stories. I used kraf-tex for the spine and elastic for the closure. To ink the edges of the papers, I used salty ocean distress ink by ranger.

On the front cover, I just layered some patterned paper and place a sticker that says "happy travels" which I got from another collection. I made like a luggage tag and put the name of the boy inside and used acetate. I also used baby blue elastic for the closure and blue eyelets.

When you open this album, on the left side there is a expandable envelope with clear front so he can see everything that he will put inside and a smaller folio like a folder which has two clear pockets inside if ever he needs some organization. On the folder, I just piece some patterned papers and pocket cards and just added some banners. I also used clips and did not use any magnets just to be different and nothing will fall out of the folder.

On the right side, there is another folder which has two stacked side pockets that has a magnetic closure so that nothing will fall out of the folder. At the back of that there is a large pocket which holds a photo mat that I made. And below I fussy cut one part from the 4x6 pocket cards and just adhere the sides and the bottom to have a pocket above and then I added some journaling spots. Next there is a stacked pockets and I added photo mats and put it inside the pockets. I used patterened papers and reinforcement to decorate the photo mats.

Then in the middle, there's another expandable envelope but smaller than the last two that I showed you earlier which also has clear front. There's also a large pocket beside the expandable envelope. And I added journaling pages inside the pockets.

Then the back looks like this,

I also added some printables found on http://we3travel.com/free-kid-travel-journal-printable/ which are great for lots of journaling for kids.

This is perfect for travel where they can organize what they get from travelling like stubs, tickets, pamphlets, postcards and perfect to place all their photos! They can also place their colored pens or pencils inside the envelopes!

Please watch the walkthrough of this album to see all the tags and photo mats that I made. Watch it here:
