BIRTHDAY GIRL WISHES FOTO FOLIO

Hello hello!

I'm gonna share another foto folio with you all, I made a birthday folio and this is a custom order. She wanted a birthday folio for her daughter who turned 3 last September. I'm a bit late posting this project here on my blog because my daughter's time of sleep is getting crazy again and time won't just allow me to blog! Lol!

So I used Kathy Orta King's Foto Folio Style 4 Gatefold Folio tutorial for this album. And I made this album using Birthday Wishes Kit by Echo Park. I also used kraf-tex for both spines. This is very easy to make.

On the front cover, I decorated it the way Kathy did but I just used what I have. I usually don't buy all the things that comes with the collection because that will cost me too much so I just use whatever I have and that's when I get to be more creative and resourceful :). So I just layered some patterned paper and stickers on the front cover. Since this is for a birthday, I played with it.

This is a gatefold album so it will open on both sides. I placed 4x4 cut aparts from the cut-apart sheet and place two photo mats using plain pastel colored cardstock and the word Wish is a sticker. In the middle, there are four pockets with photo mats inside and the bottom part has a large pocket, and I didn't placed anything inside so she can place the invitation there.

It opens up again on both sides, which is a waterfall with 12 photo mats on the left side and then the right side are stacked pockets with photo mats inside.

Then the bottom part goes down, and I just made a layout there. Then on both flip outs I placed photo mats and 3x4s from the cut apart sheet. Then in the middle there are two pockets which holds two photo mats inside. It has 3 cascading pockets and they all go down and just made layouts for each.

The back looks like this

And that's it! Very easy to make!

TRAVEL STORIES FOLIO (GIRL VERSION)

Hello again!

I'm back with the girl version of travel folio for the kids! This time, I used Carta Bella Travel Stories Kit. It's the same as the boy one using kathy orta king's foto folios 2 style #4 tutorial. And I also used kraf-tex for the binding and baby pink elastic closure.

This album measures 9x11 inches with 2 1/2 inches spine. I used picked raspberry distress ink from ranger to ink the edges of the papers.

On the front cover, I did the same luggage tag to put the girl's name. I placed the 3x4 pocket card from the cut-apart sheet as the focal point of the cover that says "Life is a Journey" and just layered with the patterned paper which are from the border sheet.

I made a different lay-out on the folder part on the left side. On one side, I used the design on the paper, I cut a part on the envelope and postcard on the paper that made a slit pocket so I can insert two photo mats. I also learned that from kathy orta :) On the other side I used 3x4s from the cut-apart sheet and placed some photo mats and a border and just added some stickers and banners.Inside the folder, I also added some stickers and a used tim holtz paper clip to clip the 3x4 which says "we took a lot of pictures". I used clips to hold the folder so nothing will fall out.

Then on the right side part is basically the same as the boy one, except on the back of the folder with pockets, I just made a photo mat and decorate it with stickers and did not decorate the bottom part of the page. On this album I used pink and yellow pastel colored cardstock. I also added photo mats placed inside the pockets and journaling pages for kids found on http://we3travel.com/free-kid-travel-journal-printable/ which are very great journaling pages and I showed that on my youtube video!

And lastly, on the back of the album, I pieced two different patterned paper together and it looks like this

And that's it, that's the girl version of the travel folio!

AWAY WE GO TRAVEL FOLIO (BOY VERSION)

Hello everyone!

I've got another Foto Folio to share with you all. This is a custom order I got from my facebook page from a very nice lady and she wanted a Travel Folio for kids. Then she showed me three websites which have diy travel journal for kids but used the cinge binding. I told her that I only do the kind of binding that I do with foto folios and mini album and don't have the machine for that. And then she told me that the last travel folio that I made will be too complicated for the kids and maybe I can make a simpler one. I thought of the travel folio from foto folios 2 and showed her kathy orta's video for that and she said that it could work, so we agreed on me making the travel folio. I made two travel folio, one for a boy and another for a girl. She also told me to use papers with shades of blue and green for the boy and shades of pink for the girl folio. And I think I managed to do that.

On this album, I used Away We Go paper collection from Imaginisce and I also used few pocket cards from Sn@p travel by simple stories. I used kraf-tex for the spine and elastic for the closure. To ink the edges of the papers, I used salty ocean distress ink by ranger.

On the front cover, I just layered some patterned paper and place a sticker that says "happy travels" which I got from another collection. I made like a luggage tag and put the name of the boy inside and used acetate. I also used baby blue elastic for the closure and blue eyelets.

When you open this album, on the left side there is a expandable envelope with clear front so he can see everything that he will put inside and a smaller folio like a folder which has two clear pockets inside if ever he needs some organization. On the folder, I just piece some patterned papers and pocket cards and just added some banners. I also used clips and did not use any magnets just to be different and nothing will fall out of the folder.

On the right side, there is another folder which has two stacked side pockets that has a magnetic closure so that nothing will fall out of the folder. At the back of that there is a large pocket which holds a photo mat that I made. And below I fussy cut one part from the 4x6 pocket cards and just adhere the sides and the bottom to have a pocket above and then I added some journaling spots. Next there is a stacked pockets and I added photo mats and put it inside the pockets. I used patterened papers and reinforcement to decorate the photo mats.

Then in the middle, there's another expandable envelope but smaller than the last two that I showed you earlier which also has clear front. There's also a large pocket beside the expandable envelope. And I added journaling pages inside the pockets.

Then the back looks like this,

I also added some printables found on http://we3travel.com/free-kid-travel-journal-printable/ which are great for lots of journaling for kids.

This is perfect for travel where they can organize what they get from travelling like stubs, tickets, pamphlets, postcards and perfect to place all their photos! They can also place their colored pens or pencils inside the envelopes!

Please watch the walkthrough of this album to see all the tags and photo mats that I made. Watch it here:

BUNDLE OF JOY BABY GIRL MINI ALBUM

Hello bloggers!

I'm excited to share with you my own very first mini album with my own page design! Yey! This is a custom order from my hubby's boss and she wanted a mini album for her daughter for a baby's first year, and this is what I came up with! And I just want to say that I'm learning so many things on making kathy orta's projects that's why I was able to make this mini. And I don't think I will ever gonna stop making paper phenomenon's projects because she makes gorgeous projects and it just caters to what I need and want.

I used Bundle of Joy Baby Girl Kit paper collection by Echo Park. This album measures 7.5x9" with 6x8" pages and 3.5" spine. I used Kathy Orta's hidden hinge plus binding system with 3/8" gussets. I really love this new binding system, it gives the album more room for photos and embellishments and your album will still lay flat! I used cardstock and reinforced it with tyvek to make it more durable and sturdy. I had the hard time folding each hinge but it's worth it! Maybe next time, I'll try using only tyvek for the binding. I also used tyvek for the closure, a tim holtz buckle and some eyelets. This album can hold more than 100 photos from wallet size to 5x7" photos.

I just kept this album simple, nothing so fancy. When you open my album, I want my album to be more about photos and journaling rather than you see a lot of embellishments inside and just small room for photos. But I do love chunky embellishments, I just don't want it on my pages and rather use it on my album covers if ever I have the opportunity to do so.

On the album cover, the baby banner, the flower and the small banner on the frame are stickers that I backed up with a white cardstock and fussy cut and used glue dots to make it look like three dimensional. I also made a polaroid frame but made it like a pocket frame and placed a white cardstock inside with a sticker of welcome baby girl which she can remove and place the photo of her daughter. The sweet bundle of joy is a chipboard piece and I just adhere it over the bottom side of the frame. For the closure, it was inspired by kathy orta's closure of her my design mini album.

On the left side, I made a pocket and used acetate because I wanted it to be see through. I made two photo mats and also made a small envelope using martha stewart's scoring board. I just added stickers and a paper clip. If she has letter for her daughter she can place it inside the envelope. On the right side is the first page, it's like an envelope. I made a frame using an edge punch that I bought from daiso and adhere the left and bottom side of the 3x4 cut apart from the collection where she can write the baby stats. On the open side, I inserted a small tag where she can journal or add another photo.
I'm sorry I didn't take a photo with the flap open because on the right side of the frame, I place a journaling spot where I stamped "the birth story" so she can write there. And I just think it's nice with the story and the newborn photo at the right. And each page has a side pocket that holds a large photo mat where she can place a chosen photo of her baby from the 1st month to 12th month. I used the 1st to 12th month sticker from the collection and used my silhouette with the scalloped circle.

So it opens up like this, there's a full page space for a lay-out or collage where she can place photos of her baby from the hospital and just added the sticker from the collection which says "congratulations on your new arrival". And then I made a large pocket which has 2 photo mats inside and on the pocket is a 3x4 cut apart and I just mat the one on the right and these 2 opens up for spaces for photos and journaling which are magnetized.

On this next page, there's another large space for a large photo and then I made a flip out with a side pocket, added stickers and a photo mat inside.

It opens up like this and I placed a journaling spot and adhere a small tag from the pebbles special delivery paper collection that says first giggle and she can write the date there and journal below and insert a photo because I left the sides open. And on the right side another spot for a photo and just added a special delivery sticker.

On the next page, I made a vertical looking envelope and just added a sticker. It opens up and holds a photo mat. And on the right side is a photo mat with a pocket and magnetized over a belly band that holds a large photo mat inside.

Next on the left, is a gatefold page that I made which opens up for more space for large photo and smaller photos that you can place inside the film strip looking frame on both sides and just added stickers. On the right is another opportunity for a lay-out or a collage.

On the next page, I adhere a chipboard piece that says "precious" at the bottom and left the upper part open and inserted a 3x4 cut apart where she can write the date of her baby starting to roll-over and she can place a photo at the back and insert another photo on the page. It opens up for more room for photos. I added a small tag again that says "holds her head up on her own" and she can write the date and I inserted a a white cardstock and I just used my ek success binding edge punch for journaling. I also made a small pocket envelope which you can flip and used acetate and she can place anything she wants inside. And then, there's another large space for a large photo. Then I made a half page on the right side that has a pocket which holds a photo mat and a small cardstock for journaling.

At the back of the half page, I just made a small pocket and added a sticker of a pink elephant and it holds a plain cardstock for journaling. At the right were two flaps that opens up and the bottom goes down. I made a belly band at the top flap and inserted a photo mat. I also used an edge punch on the belly band. And at the bottom flap she can place a photo and when it goes down it has a small pocket that holds a photo mat and a 3x4 journaling card. And I just added a sticker of a barn that I backed up with a white cardstock and fussy cut. They supposed to be magnetized but I just used a paper clip that I bought from daiso a long time ago to hold the flaps because at first I didn't know what to do with this page that I already mat them with patterned paper and not able to place magnets first.

Then I made a half page flap that has two side pockets which holds two large tags where she can add more photos or use for journaling and I just added stickers for embellishments. And when you flip it on the left side, there are another spaces for a large photo or a layout and 2 smaller photos on the left. And the next page on the right, I made a cascading photo mats which can hold 3x4 photos with a small pocket on the last photo mat and it is over a belly band which holds another large photo mat. And this is my favorite page! :)

Then another opportunity for a layout or large photo. It opens up and on the left I made a flap over a pocket that holds a photo mat. The flap goes up and can hold two photos and on the pocket is a journaling spot. Then I made three flip outs which can hold 6 landscape wallet size photos. Next page is a large pocket which is all the way through the top and it holds a large photo mat. She can also place a photo on the pocket. Then I made a horizontal pocket envelope which opens up and has a side pocket that holds a journaling card and then another spot for a 4x6 photo on the right and on the back. I added another flip out at the right side of the page and made a pocket that holds a photo mat and when you flip it at the right you can see a belly band with a sticker of a monkey and holds another photo mat. Then there's a large pocket on the page and I fussy cut the two journaling cards of the said mommy and said daddy and just adhere the sides and I inserted a plain cardstock for a journaling spot. The pocket holds a two folds card and she can place a cd inside.

And then another full page space for photos which opens up and on the left has a pocket that holds a photo mat. Then I added another half flip out at the ride side of the page which is a pocket that holds another photo mat and another opportunity for a layout or collage in the middle full page. And the next one is the last page of the album, I added a half page flip out on the right which has two flaps on the left side that opens up and magnetized. And when you flip the half page there's a pocket that holds a photo mat  and I just added the girl sticker from the collection. Next I added a side pocket and insert a journaling card for the baby's firsts so she can write the date there and she can insert anything she wants inside the pocket. Then another full page and at the back I made stacked pockets which holds 3 photo mats or journaling spots. On the right side I made a wallet card with a closure that says MILESTONES and it has a waterfall inside, stamped there all the baby's firsts and she can place the photos there and it is magnetized on the cover.

And the back looks like this...

So that's it! That's all I got for you. That's my mini album! I hope you all like it!

Please watch my youtube video for the walkthrough of this album so you can see all the inserts that I made and placed inside the pockets. :) Watch it here:
